Today I got the adaptor ps2 to usb I ordred a while ago so i can try the last controller I got from Jonas. It’s the Dance Pad for Dance Dance Revolution game series (1999-).
I have quite some found memories of this controller as it was that one that got me into rythm games and the concept of using your feet to press buttons is still cool. That being said could it work for our game?

I have finally finished rigging the character!
But what is rigging you may ask? Well! It is the process of adding a skeleton to the model and adding controllers to it. A model of itself is nice but if I want to be able to manipulate its limbs it needs a skeleton like a real living being.

Something I have been pondering from the start is the concept of a game controller. As these tools are the medium that translates the players thoughts and instincts into action on a screen. These devices are essensial to understand the concept of Game Feel.

This weekend I went and joined Ludum Dare a big Game Jam in 48 hours. It’s always an experience to see a game getting created in a short time span. In the last couple of weeks alot of things have happened.
Ive had a myriad of problems with the model which I never anticipated which slowed down the modelling progression. This is all linked to me not being that used to modelling in the first place since I havent really been doing it that much before this project. I did not consider that the workflow in how I proceed while modelling could do such a big impact. For example I did have a concept on how the character would look like, but it was not a final one. I found that if I actually had a more final concept on her looks helped alot in the process.

While looking up concepts that could relate to Game Feel I found i found the concept Game Usability. Katherine Isbister and Noah Shaffer say that usability is about how intuitive and effective the thing is to accomplish tasks. Game Usability is that applied to a game medium but that term is also applied to the broader idea of the game experience. Today I took and looked into by Katherine Isbister and Noah Schaffer. (2008)
